Requests for The Guardians Releases / Bands to be added to Metal Academy
Actually, if possible, there's one album I'd like added that isn't tagged as metal on RYM, but it fits my standard for regular heavy metal (and it's heavier than Sad Wings of Destiny, which is somehow metal, and heavier than the two Def Leppard albums that are allowed here), and three albums by this band are already one MA. This is the ONLY album by this band I'll ask to add, and after that, I'm perfectly fine with all the other non-metal albums being excluded: Dr. Feelgood by Motley Crue. It kinda mixes heavy metal with hard rock, but both are even enough if you ask me.
I think I'll wait on another Hall for that, but thank you. Honestly, I didn't expect it to be so easy to get it added, so I'll take one more fucking crack at it, the only other hard rock / heavy metal albums I want added: Deep Purple's "Perfect Strangers" and "In Rock," and only the first GNR. I doubt I'll get that far, but I usually test my limits.
And don't worry, my firm opinion is that Appetite is the only GNR album that fits that bill.
Whoa. Didn't expect to see ALL the Motley albums up there. That was pretty generous. Thanks!

Well it turns out they should have been there anyway. Our general rule is that all releases between the first and last album / EP from a band that are considered to be metal will be added to the site. Since 1981's Too Fast for Love is considered Heavy Metal and 1997's Generation Swine is considered Alternative Metal, I've added all releases that fall between them.
I GUESS Creatures of the Night falls under that category.
On the subject of GNR and Deep Purple, two of the three albums I specified are on my top 100 metal albums list, which I would like to add here.
Also, this begs a separate question: Should we have a list feature to exclude non metal from our charts?
Ben, please add NWOBHM band Mythra's four-song "The Death & Destiny" E.P. from 1979.
Is it possible for Mortal Kombat (Serbia) to be added? They're a classic heavy metal band with punk influences.
I'm doing cleanup for the end of the year, thanks Ben!
Terra Atlantica - Beyond The Borders
Brymir - Voices in the Sky
Cauldron Born - Cold Steel for the Necromancer
Jorn - Over the Horizon Radar
Stray Gods - Storm the Walls
Ultima Grace - Ultima Grace
Moonlight Haze - Animus
Neurotech - Symphonies II
Shield of Wings - Unfinished
Crystal Ball - Crysteria
Eternal Ascent - Reclamation
Looms like I got everything I need except the one Deep Purple album, and its beyond me why RYM hasn't voted it metal yet.
As for more blatantly metal albums, Ascension released their second album... after a goddamn eleven year period. I stumbled on a video like on Reddit on pure luck. Could you please add Ascension's Under the Veil of Madness under symphonic and power metal?
EDIT: Their debut and two EP's aren't here either. Sorry.
Ben, can you please add the 1981 self-titled debut E.P. from Australian heavy metallers Taipan? Its was released in a 12" format.
Can we please add the US symphonic power metal band Empress sometime? Their debut album last year was great.
Would Starless (JPN) be able to be added? Some places list it as metal and some don't, dunno what it currently is on RYM.
Also Darkmoon Blade, as that seems to be somewhat obscure, if there's no genre for it (please let there be a genre for it) heavy/thrash I guess.
Hi Ben, could you add
Albert Bell's Sacro Sanctus
Elephant (USA)
Grey Wolf (the one with Cimmerian Hordes)
Heimdall (Italy)
鐵槌 AKA Tettsui (Japan)
Hi, Ben, could you add Rawhead Rexx?
Can you please add the Czech power metal band Steelfaith, Japanese band Marchen Station, Spanish band Third Dimension and (you're gonna hate me for this one) Ron Wasserman, a member of Fisher who does his own original works as well as... a certain TV soundtrack.
Hi Ben, could you add the Brazilian band Dark Night?
Seems Легион (Legion) isn't on this site yet. I'd highly recommend their album "Knights of Cross" for a wacky, oddly technical kind of power metal mixed with a few tracks that have weird funky/rock ballad moments while at the same time having those techy riffs comparable to Mekong Delta or something. Released in 1994, 3 years after the Soviet Union collapse. Their demo released after the album has a better singer and it continues in that style.

Elephant seems to be a really intresting band, might have to check them out someday.
Hi, Ben, could you add:

Solitary Sabred
Diamonds Hadder

Hi Ben, I am sure you have it covered, but could you add the new Saxon album Hell, Fire and Damnation, please.
Ben, please add Grailknights.
