Only Linkin Park knows how to make even a Jay-Z song appealing to my ears:

My favourite track from Japanese outfit Dir en Grey's 2008 "Uroboros" album is this progressive example of the alternative metal sound. For fans of Mr. Bungle, System Of A Down & Korn.

A killer Coldrain song to start with, but the rest of the band's debut doesn't reach its heaviness:

This is far better than that sh*tty Helloween song of the same title, and part of an album that is a big improvement compared to Coldrain's earlier releases:

Some of the best lyrics and most awesome alt-metalcore to bring exciting entertainment to the tough times of the virus:

Coldrain's 4th album Vena shows the band unleashing more metalcore than before in killer songs like this one:

The song that got me interested in Coldrain, and I'm sure it might get you interested in this band as well along with their perfect alt-metalcore album The Side Effects:

Chaotic experimental alt-metal from Japan:

Wonderfully kooky avant-garde alternative metal from Maryland, USA. For fans of Mr. Bungle, Stolen Babies & Polkadot Cadaver.

A nostalgic anthem from my teenage years from New York alternative metallers Helmet. It reminds me a lot of my high school girlfriend actually. For fans of Prong, Fudge Tunnel & Soundgarden.

I took a trip down alt-rock/metal memory lane with one of Breaking Benjamin's albums and ended up liking this one better than I had nearly a decade ago, with this song being one of the best from the band despite sounding softer:

A gorgeous post-rock collaboration with Rage Against The Machine's Tom Morello from an album that should appeal to fans of Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin & Red.

The album is good, Daniel, just not that particular track for me. Another example of your taste and mine being far from each other...

One of the most brutal songs of the album and maybe even the band. Courtney delivers her incendiary vocals while the guitar scope is widen by the electronic drama in thunderous mechanical rage. A killer alt-metal/djent-core collision!

Alternative metal from Los Angeles, USA. A guilty pleasure for me at the moment thanks to the wonderful chorus hook. For fans of Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch & Ill Niño's "Till Death, La Familia" album.

Daniel, I would be interested to see you share your thoughts on Karnivool's debut Themata, seeing how motivated you are to do so since they're from your homeland and you saw them perform live. This song is a brilliant highlight from that album, to please fans of late-90s Incubus, A Perfect Circle, and the non-rapping tracks of Linkin Park:

Making my way through downtown memories of my pre-metal alt-past with a couple albums, the former of which my brother and I remember this track well:
