Track Of The Day - The Pit Edition
A New Jersey thrash metal classic for fans of Anthrax, Testament & Annihilator.
Title track from the latest Exodus album. Not half as bad as expected and I will definitely be dipping in for a full listen through in the coming weeks.
Highly energetic Bay Area thrash for fans of Metallica, Exodus & Death Angel.
Classic thrash metal, done with a power metal mentality.

I have an original vinyl copy of this album I bought blind back in the day, but it kind of failed to excite me in the same way as other high-profile releases from the same time: Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood, Pleasure to Kill and Peace Sells all coming out around the same time, but I do remember Hammerhead being the best track. I think it's probably time to dig it out and give it a reappraisal as I don't think I've listened to it since Jason Newsted joined Metallica.
I've always rated "Doomsday For The Deceiver" very highly. It was such an ambitious undertaking for a debut album. Of course it doesn't compete on the same level as the albums Sonny mentioned but then that's hardly a major criticism given their enduring status as the elite releases of the whole metal genre. "Hammerhead" was a very solid opener but my favourite track is "Desecrator", closely followed by the two epics in the title track & "Metalshock".
Raw Norwegian thrash metal for fans of Deathhammer, Nekromantheon & Inculter.
Ukrainian thrash metal in the vein of early Sepultura.
Classic thrash from the Seps!
Aggressive Californian thrash metal for fans of Sadus, Slayer & Demolition Hammer.
Russian technical thrash metal for fans of Vektor, Coroner & Obliveon.
Russian technical thrash metal for fans of Vektor, Coroner & Obliveon.
I gave this album a listen and a review to level up my Vektor/Coroner-like tech-thrash zone. The brilliant title instrumental is where the entire band can shine without vocals. That's what I call the Russian tech-thrash Crusade!
Ultra-fast thrash greatness! Any fan of Dark Angel, Slayer, or Kreator, should take a break from those bands and give this one a chance:
Continuing my Sadus review journey, this track is a thrash classic that deserves more attention:
Super-aggressive Californian thrash metal.
I just read Vinny's review for Voivod's Killing Technology and remembered some amazing progressive thrash highlights from that album like the opening title track:
Yeah, definitely one of the highlights of the "Killing Technology" album. I'll never be convinced that Voivod are/were a thrash metal band though.
Beautifully executed mid-90's thrash metal from Perth, Australia.
Wonderfully professional & complex Californian thrash metal from 1991.
A killer of an instrumental from Parkcrest's 2019 album ...And That Blue Will Turn to Red.
The slowest track from English blackened thrash trio Hellfekted's 2020 debut album "Woe To The Kingdom Of Blood".
High velocity late 80's thrash metal from Los Angeles, USA.
Brazilian thrash metal from the early 90's.
