Track Of The Day - The Horde Edition
A couple songs from 2 albums I've reviewed in The Horde Death Metal Modern Era Clan Challenge that I love so much enough to listen those bands full-time:
Early US death metal from Ohio, USA.
Earlier this week I was reviewing some Darkest Hour albums for my Revolution Melodic Metalcore clan strategy, but this song is from their most melodeath album and it features a Gothenburg legend. US melodeath from DC!
Absolutely killer Washington grindcore for fans of Napalm Death, Brutal Truth & Nails.
Ultra raw Brazilian death metal from 1987. For fans of Sarcofago, Vulcano & the first couple of Sepultura releases.
High quality old-school death metal from California, USA.
Even though I'm out of The Horde now, I'm still gonna make occasional throwbacks to my melodeath times, like this killer Arch Enemy classic:

That's perfectly fine Andi. In fact, cross clan posting is encouraged. After all, we want to see people expanding their metal horizons, don't we?
The absolutely belting opening track from this Polish goregrind outfit's 1995 sophomore album "A Chapter Of Accidents". For fans of Regurgitate, Haemorrhage & "Reek Of Putrefaction"-era Carcass.
After sharing a song by Arch Enemy from the Johan Liiva era, I decided to share another song from the band, this time when they had Angela Gossow as lead vocalist. I think when they started having a female vocalist is what made the band more successful because of this unique piece of the melodeath puzzle.
Still haven't forgotten about my recent Horde past:
Possibly the greatest Swedish death metal track ever recorded. For fans of Dismember, Grave & Carnage.
One of only a few great songs from a gothic melodeath album I was reviewing as part of The Fallen Gothic Metal Modern Era Challenge. Not really an album or band I would recommend for myself, but this one's for fans of Dark Tranquillity, Charon, and a bit of Ava Inferi:
Ripping Canadian death/thrash for fans of Slayer, Possessed & 1980's Morbid Angel.
Another great hit from Swedish melodeath masters Dark Tranquillity:
Blackened death metal with a nasty riff to start things off nicely before layered chaos ensues.
After reviewing Sabaton's Carolus Rex as part of my Ultimate Metal Family Tree band challenge, including their bonus cover of Amon Amarth's "Twilight From the Thunder God", I decided to share the original Amon Amarth song here. While both versions are epic, I think the Amon Amarth version would suit my minor like for melodeath:
Riffy death metal with chaotic sonics from Tampa's finest. Barked vocals from the throat of a demon from the sounds of it. Fantastic stuff.
Fuck yeah! I absolutely love the self-titled Deicide album. Back in 1990 it was seriously one of the most evil sounding things that I had ever heard & you could tell that the band had already paid some dues because it was so well defined for a first up effort.
Absolute classic death metal album! Excellent choice.
Get those black metal influences out of the Pagan/folk metal zone, this is melodeath's time to shine!
Cripplingly dark & doomy death metal for fans of Immolation, Autopsy & Dead Congregation.
Once again following the theme of covers of songs from albums in my Ultimate Metal Family Tree band challenge, here's Children of Bodom covering a classic hit from fellow Finnish melodeath band Amorphis:
Continuing the theme of covers of melodeath hits, this is when At the Gates gets brutalized. I say "F*** YEAH" to this chaotic cover!
