Mutoid Man's "Bleeder" should be in The Infinite
As I review albums from Mutoid Man's discography, I've noticed a lot more in their sound than just stoner metal. Their sound is more like a hodgepodge of different styles. Many songs have the fast fury of hardcore/speed metal and the complex structure of progressive metal, among other rock/metal styles, though in the case of Bleeder, they've only just started adopting the speed metal elements in a few songs. The rest can be considered progressive stoner metal with pieces of other genres. Here's my genre analysis for the 10 tracks of the album:
1. Bridgeburner - heavy metal/stoner metal/progressive metal
2. Reptilian Soul - hardcore punk/hard rock/progressive metal
3. Sweet Ivy - psychedelic rock/stoner metal/progressive metal
4. 1000 Mile Stare - progressive metal/metalcore
5. Surveillance - progressive metal/metalcore
6. Beast - progressive metal/hardcore punk/speed metal
7. Dead Dreams - stoner metal/sludge metal
8. Soft Spot in My Skull - speed metal/progressive metal/jazz fusion
9. Deadlock - stoner metal/progressive metal/speed metal
10. Bleeder - blues rock/stoner metal/progressive metal
Primary genres: Stoner metal, progressive metal
Secondary genres: Hardcore punk, metalcore, speed metal
With that I'd like to send Mutoid Man's "Bleeder" to the Hall to be added to The Infinite and progressive metal, while staying in The Fallen and stoner metal.
This nomination has been posted in the Hall of Judgement.
