Downcast's 1991 album isn't metal

My search for the earliest bands in non-melodic metalcore subgenres ended up getting imploded by the sole Downcast album basically being proto-emo-hardcore. It offers much more hardcore than metal, the latter only developed by the real metalcore inventors like Rorschach, Integrity, and Starkweather. One song is metal enough to be in a Revolution playlist, but not enough to make the album fully qualify as metalcore. So I'd like to submit the 1991 Downcast album to the Hall to be removed from The Revolution and labelled non-metal.
