Trivium's "The Crusade" is not melodic metalcore
That's right, one of the albums from modern melodic metalcore masters Trivium (besides Silence in the Snow) is not that genre! After a thorough genre analysis of their stylistically divisive third album The Crusade, I've concluded that the album is a mix of genuine thrash, tech-thrash, and classic heavy metal with some secondary speed and progressive metal influences. The closest thing to metalcore this album even remotely has is the screamed pre-solo bridge in "Becoming the Dragon". Everything else is mostly fast thrashers that can go technical at times and slower classic heavy metal anthems. So here how I'd like these issues to be sorted out in the Hall:
1. I'd like to see this release removed from The Revolution and Melodic Metalcore.
2. ONLY if that entry has more YES votes and gets that album taken out of The Revolution, I'd like to see Heavy Metal and The Guardians clan added to the release.
All that while keeping its position in The Pit. I would also encourage members of The Pit to please vote in the Technical Thrash Metal subgenre.
This release has now been posted in the Hall of Judgement.
Thanks, Daniel!
