Lifetimeline of my entire music history
A lot of you have been wondering what in the metal world I'm talking about when it comes to my different eras of music (my epic metal taste, my current heavier era, my death metal departure, my doom/gothic metal departure, etc.). Wonder no more, behold!
Here you find out which years were moderate and highest peaks for what I used to like and what I still enjoy. That includes one dreaded starter phase (radio pop), 8 non-metal artists/bands, and the 7 metal clans I have and had throughout my years of listening to metal. Of course, the "clans" I'm referring to figuratively for the most part, because the Metal Academy site has only been around for over 3 years now, and while I wasn't actually in The Fallen clan in my first year here, my taste for the genres there was still strong and that's why I wanted to add The Fallen as my 4th clan after completing the clan challenges. Anyway, here's a list of all the artists/bands and eras to clarify to you all:
Radio pop: Primary - 2007-2010, Secondary - 2010-2012

The Revolution (metalcore/melodic metalcore): Secondary - 2017-2018, Primary - 2018-present
The Sphere (industrial metal): Secondary - 2021-2022, Primary - 2022-present
You know it's possible to simply have a broad taste where you can listen to all of the above depending on what you feel like at the time, right Andi? I've certainly gone through phases over my life but I've never discarded anything I've genuinely loved & there's no shame in the fact that I still love Duran Duran.
It is possible, Daniel, and indeed it depends on what I feel like. I've discarded my radio pop past when I've found something that I think is lightyears better, that of course being metal, when my metal interest first started. Still it's good to look back at the earlier past every once in a while, and I'm glad to have the bravery and leeway to do so...
Bands from the Every Noise metal map I've listened to in the past and still listen to today (might also keep traveling through the industrial metal "north" with bands like Pain and Fear Factory):
