Some bands need a bit of time to get into their stride and some bands hit the ground running. These are my Top Ten debut full-length albums. I've tried to keep it to bands who are pretty much just starting out, so I've not included new bands from old hands, eg Triptykon or Ozzy's first solo LP. What are your personal favourite debut full-lengths?

Here's my top 10:

1. Bullet for My Valentine - The Poison (2005)

2. The Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity (1999)

3. Ne Obliviscaris - Portal of I (2012)

4. Leprous - Tall Poppy Syndrome (2009) (not including Aeolia though that demo's great too)

5. Make Them Suffer - Neverbloom (2012)

6. Prayer for Cleansing - The Rain in Endless Fall (1999) (don't know if it counts if it's a band's only album)

7. Disillusion - Back to Times of Splendor (2004)

8. Sadus - Illusions (1988)

9. Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine - Biomech (1997) (not including his one-album project Punky Bruster)

10. Wage War - Blueprints (2015)

These aren't ordered but it was real interesting going through my ratings and seeing how many bands had their breakout album on their 2nd or 3rd instead of their debut. Way more than I imagined, these were some of the most interesting ones I could find without listing any duplicates, since Devin Townsend, Emperor, Ne Obliviscaris, and Ahab would have made the list for me.
