January 2026 — Feature Release — The North Edition
It is my turn to herald in the black metal new year features and I have gone with the latest album "Existentialismus" from the UK's Abduction. As the UK is not exactly overflowing with high quality black metal acts I feel obliged to point listeners in the direction of a good record from fellow Brits. Let us know what you think in review form and / or as a comment in the thread below.

Hmmm...I went back to my notes from when I listened to this last year and have written "amateur attempts at singing that appear after a couple of tracks that ruin an otherwise strong effort until that point". That sounds like I was having either a grumpy day or certainly getting through a lot of music that day as it seems a very dismissive statement so I will be revisiting this album to give at least a more informed opinion. That cover is fucking mental though.
I'm across Abduction's last couple of albums & quite liked them too. Anyone know if their earlier material is worth exploring?

I bought their second album, "A Crown of Curses" on cassette when it came out and found it to be surprisingly good for a low-key UK black metal act.
