The New Music Thread : The North Edition
The new album from Swedish melodic black metallers Naglfar entitled "Cerecloth" which is to be released on 8th May.
The new album from German medieval folk metallers In Extremo entitled "Kompass zur Sonne" which is due for release on 8th May.
Thew new album from Dutch symphonic black metallers Carach Angren entitled "Franckensteina Strataemontanus" which is due for release on 29th May.
The new album from one -man Finnish atmospheric black metal project October Falls entitled "A Fall Of An Epoch" which is due for release on 30th May.
The new single from German atmospheric black metallers ColdWorld entitled "We Are Doomed". Hhhmmmm…. that sounds like an uplifting prospect, doesn't it!
The new album from England's premier black metal band, Winterfylleth, called The Reckoning Dawn, their first black metal release for four years, is a cracker:
A new split cassette & 10" vinyl release from Norwegian black metall outfits Taake & Deathcult entitled "Jaertegn" which is due for release on 12th June.
The new E.P. from Polish blackened death metallers Behemoth entitled "A Forest" which is due for release on 29th May. The title track is a cover version of The Cure & it features a guest appearance from current Shining & former Bethlehem front man Niklas Kvarforth.
Jettegryta, the second preview track from Enslaved's new album Utgard, due out October 2nd. Better than the first preview, Homebound, as it exhibits more of Enslaved's black metal roots woven into it's progressive metal.
The new single from English black metal outfit Anaal Nathrakh entitled "Endarkenment" which is taken from their upcoming album of the same name which is due for release on 2nd October.
The humppaa-influenced, folk metal trolls Finntroll had their new album out September 18th and it is a lot of fun. One of the few black metal albums you can imagine people dancing to!
Another album out September 18th is a very different proposition from Finntroll. The UK's Infernal Sea has a primal, savage album of UKBM entitled Negotium Crucis out that same day. Video for the title track:
The new E.P. from Norwegian black metallers Troll entitled "Tilbake til Trollberg".
A track from the new album "Syys" from Finnish black metal/folk act October Falls.
Svalbard - When I Die, Will I Get Better?
I will post in The Revolution clan as well, but this English Black Metal group is pulling out all of the stops bringing in elements of Hardcore Punk and Post-Metal into a one of a kind experience that I never knew that I needed! FFO: Rolo Tomassi, Astronoid & Harakari for the Sky

A track from the brand new "Under Sullen Skies" album from Brooklyn-based black/sludge metallers Tombs which is due for release on 20th November.
A snippet from the upcoming Deafheaven live album "10 Years Gone". This was actually the first song they ever wrote.
This really looks like a piss-take, doesn't it?
Unfortunately it isnt, it's just the corporate ravens feeding on the unseeing eyes of the corpse of a once mighty warrior ...Black Metal was his name!
Numinal Shroud - Through the False Narrows
New Canadian atmospheric black metal with some very cool tinges of both doom and death metal interspersed throughout the record. The barebones production is commendable, but does hurt some passages as they do not feel flushed out. Still, a very strong debut release and cannot wait to hear more. FFO: Fen, Falls of Rauros

Atypical-sounding blackened death metal with a guitar sound appropriated from gothic rock. Interesting.
My new favourite album of 2021 from french black metallers Les chants de nihil.
Another example of french BM acts trying to push the genre forward:
Daniel, Ben and Vinny you should all probably give this a listen.
