This album is a near perfect match of raw production, wretched vocals, soaring melodicism and brilliant song structure. The drums are punchy and really nicely recorded, and they play at a slightly slower tempo than typical black metal, but the effect is terrific. They waste no time with intros and jump straight into it, and the album is straight up second wave black metal with no keyboards. Outstanding stuff
