The Hall of Judgement: Today is the Day - Today Is the Day
shadowdoom9 (Andi) has requested that this release be submitted into the Hall of Judgement. If you agree with the below change request, vote YES. If you don't, vote NO.
Request: Today Is The Day's self-titled album should be added to The Infinite on top of its existing position in The Fallen.
This change will add the Avant-Garde Metal tag to the release.
Member comment: "The self-titled 3rd album from Today is the Day currently has just the sludge metal tag, but honestly, it's way more than just sludge. There is some usage of background keyboards, and prominent progressive experimentation similar instrumentally to Voivod and early Protest the Hero, though with more emphasis on experimental than progressive. The interludes, guitar, and scream/clean vocal alternations make things seem like a prototype of mid-2000s The Dillinger Escape Plan, though it's far out of reach from mathcore mostly. I would consider this album a mix of noise rock, sludgecore, and avant-garde metal, or experimental noise sludge for short. So I'd like to submit the 1996 self-titled Today is the Day album to the Hall to be added to the Infinite as avant-garde metal, while maintaining its place in sludge metal."
NOTE: Only members of The Fallen & The Infinite can vote on this judgement. Once 15 votes of Yes or No have been entered, the Hall will make its judgement.
