Howdy. Strig here
Long time listener, first time caller.
So cool, a happening new Metal site. Glad to get in on the ground floor, and hello to current and future members who may read this. Looks like folks are giving their musical tastes in these, so here goes -
I like the edges I guess. Sure, who doesn't love some Maiden and Slayer and Metallica and the classics, but I love to search for the outsider music among this outsider music. Dissonance, skronk, batshit vocals, extreme time signatures and/or bludgeoning - these are my thing. To keep it simple, though, I suppose my top genres are Sludge, Thrash, and Techdeath, and Mathcore done right is a special treat. Non-metallic would be Noise Rock, Avant Garde Jazz, and Heavy Psych. So, I naturally love to combine those things. Noisy, Psyched out, Avant Garde Death Metal with some horns? Yes, please. And I am intrigued any time I see something that is "Blackened", be it Thrash, Death, Doom, or whathaveyou. I listen to almost any style of Metal, however, on an almost daily basis. Not so huge on Power, Neoclassical, or anything cheese-related.
So that's where a dude like Strig is coming from. See y'all around the site!

Looking at your musical taste I can categorically declare that you are just the sort of metalhead we are looking to recruit to our cause so feel free to get involved as much as possible; particularly in adding ratings & reviews but also using the forums. We think we're onto something special here & both Ben & I are as excited to experience the website from a purely user point of view as we are from having conceptualized & created it.
