Charts now have a minimum of 3 ratings
If you use the Charts page, you will now noticed that all charts show only albums with a minimum of 3 ratings. We didn't feel that it was particularly useful to show albums at the top of charts that had only a single 5 star rating.
We really like the effect this change has had on the charts, so will likely increase the minimum ratings as the site grows.
A good and needed change. I agree, the charts make a lot more sense now.
Ratings with more data points backing them should definitely have more clout in some form or fashion. While the RYM algorithm isn't perfect, that's one aspect it has right, and this is a step in that direction it seems.
Agreed that this is a much needed change. Is there a plan to review the minimum number or instigate some kind of algorithm as the site grows?
