502 Bad Gateway errors

Is anyone else experiencing issues with the above error and pages refusing to load? I have been encountering it a bit during the last week, but over the last two days it has got worse and worse to the point where it is now making the site almost unusable to be honest. This is an issue on both my laptop and tablet, so isn't down to either of those I don't think. 

A quick search says that the error is a communication problem between originator and server. I haven't experienced it on any other sites, so I wonder if the issue is with the Academy server.

Having the same issue today on some pages - band and album pages. No problem with the forum.

If I use the browser extension for my VPN (PIA), pages work but load slowly. If I don't use the VPN I get the 502 error.

Nope. It all went to crap when I pressed 'Post New Reply'. With and without VPN.

I don't see anything bad about The Gateway right now other than that poor Mirrorcell release. OK, but seriously, I'm also having that issue, and hopefully it will be fixed. I would be lucky to have this comment up after less than a few minutes of trying to post.

Hi all. Sorry, had a 4 day weekend here and haven't spent much time on the site. I've experienced this a few times as well. I'll restart the site and see if it helps.

OK. I noticed resources were being smashed, which probably caused the gateway errors.. A restart seems to have cleared things up.

I have to admit, I'm a little concerned that our recently banned friend could be involved. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Thanks Ben. And now that you mentioned it, maybe it is possible that Void somehow brought in a virus that caused the gateway errors. Of course, we don't know for sure.

I was more thinking a denial of service attack. Just seems a coincidence that the site had extremely high traffic causing failures for the first time ever.
