LOVEBITES are easy to underestimate at first. The polished white outfits and sleek presentation might suggest something lightweight, but the music is fast, aggressive and technically serious. Midori and Miyako deliver a sharp twin-guitar attack, Haruna drives everything with relentless drums, and Asami’s clean, high vocals give the band a dramatic power-metal edge. At their best, especially on songs like “Break the Wall,” they sound like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Helloween pushed through modern Japanese precision.
