Neither before nor since this album has American society been kicked so hard in the ass by any other representative of pop culture. No one has ever so gracefully served your own shit on a porcelain plate. It's more than just another industrial record from another epathetic clown. It's a well-crafted conceptual opus whose strongest point is its pounding message. Virtuoso lyrics with unique system of images and biblical references, infernal atmosphere, terrific vocals that range from demonic shriek to childish falsetto - these are far from all the advantages of this one-of-a-kind record. The album's delightful industrial sound and production is a result of the influence of the brilliant Trent Reznor, who took part in the recording. Especially I want to highlight the most underrated, but extremely sinister track "Kinderfeld", as well as the last soulful track "Man That You Fear", which was the perfect end of the whole record. This album is a worthy continuation of the legendary "The Downward Spiral", which surpassed it in terms of brightness of performance and volume of statement. A milestone in the entire alternative metal genre of the late nineties, as well as one of the best creations of the great and terrible maestro Marilyn Manson. Classique. 9/10
