"True Norwegian Black Metal.  Piss Off & Fuck Off" reads the rather direct message on the bastardised parental warning slogan that adorns the front of this EP.  The sound most certainly is 'true'.  I mean it sounds like you'd expect Norwegian Black Metal to sound with the harsh and abrasive vocals, scathing guitar attack and chaotic blastbeats.  Side Piss Off sets off nefariously enough with opening track 'Voldtekt' (meaning 'rape' in Norwegian) setting a hefty 'n roll' feel to proceedings.  This track was originally from a split EP done with Gigantomarchy ('Dra til Helevete').  A cover of the Von track 'Lamb' closes Side Piss Off in a short, sharp fashion leaving the listener with little to remember of it.

Side Fuck Off (you see what he's done here?) has just one eleven minute plus track that again appeared on a split EP previously, this time with Vidsyn ('Lagnonector').  'Hennes Kalde Skamlepper' again translates into controversial wording, literally meaning 'her cold Labia'.  The track goes on for far too long although maintains some direction and adds variety in pinches also.  It is not a boring track by any means, it just feels a little unnecessary at times.

It is hard to really formulate any lengthy review of an EP with just three tracks, but to summarise "Nekro" shares Hoest's dark brand of BM with the listener and does it with an almost assured sneer.  Worth a play every now and again but if you want more of a full experience of Taake, stick with a full length.
