The Hall of Judgement: Underoath - Cries of the Past
shadowdoom9 (Andi) has requested that this release be submitted into the Hall of Judgement. If you agree with the below change request, vote YES. If you don't, vote NO.
Request: Underoath's "Cries From The Past" should be removed from The North while remaining in The Revolution.
This change would remove the Black Metal genre from this release
Member Comment: "The second Underoath album Cries of the Past has some association with black metal, and that makes sense because of the influence from that genre in the instrumentation, vocals, and the progressive track lengths (longer than any of the band's songs in the albums after this one). However, I don't think that's the kind of direction the band wanted to take. Even back then, their Christian metalcore/post-hardcore sound was dominant with the black metal influences being secondary. And yeah, I know there are Christian black metal bands out there (unblack metal, if you will), but Underoath has never explicitly been part of that style. So, I'd like Underoath's "Cries of the Past" sent to the Hall to be removed from The North while staying in The Revolution."
