Quick note, however. I appreciate your use of the proper conjoined "AE" character, however it makes the band difficult to search for. Most people can't easily type that on a keyboad. If you search "Aether Realm" (as I suspect most would), there are no results.

Seems like this should be easy to fix somehow.

That's a good point. I've changed it to Aether Realm, and changed Ævangelist to Aevangelist while I was at it.

I love reading these "origin stories" for metal fans. If anyone reading this hasn't done one yet, we'd love to hear from you.

Even though it's noticeably thrashier than Voivod's debut, I still think that "Rrroooaaarrr" sounds much more like Venom, Motorhead & Exciter than Metallica, Slayer or Exodus so it should be retagged as speed metal. Much like "War & Pain", it also offers more than the odd hint at hardcore punk & progressive metal but those elements are not strong enough to warrant a additional tag.

This release has been submitted to the Hall for judgement.

Kayo Dot's debut album "Choirs Of The Eye" is pure post-metal. It's really not all that avant-garde in my opinion. Especially given that the post-metal tag allows for a reasonable amount of experimentation anyway. So I'm proposing that we remove the avant-garde metal tag for reasons of accuracy.

This release has been added to the Hall for judgement.

Messiah's "Hymn To Abramelin" album combines thrash metal with elements of speed metal, black metal, traditional heavy metal & even some doom metal. But there's very little death metal on offer. I don't see that it has any right to be in The Horde so I'd like to see it removed & remain only in The Pit.

This release has been submitted to the Hall for judgement.

Focus is canonically considered a landmark album in death metal. While its current home in Infinite is also appropriate due to the extremely progressive and experimental nature of the music, I feel that Cynic are still enough of a death metal band at their core on this album (harsh vocals everywhere, riffs that would go on to inspire legions of techdeath imitators) to warrant placement in both. Almost feels a shame to not have Focus in the death metal lists.

I kind of forgot about this suggestion, so thanks for the bump. Will look into how easy it is to implement.

Any chance you could fill out the Chevelle discography, particularly just by adding the Sci-Fi Crimes and Hats Off To The Bull albums? I don't think they're different enough from the others to warrant being the only ones excluded. Chevelle pretty much always have the same general rock/metal sound.

When I added Chevelle, I didn't have the option to add non-clan releases. Now I do, so I'll sort that out for you this week.

Bulldozer's 1986 sophomore album "The Final Separation" is generally regarded as a thrash metal release but I feel that there's just as much speed metal included so we should give it a dual tagging. There's some genuine black metal about a couple of tracks but it's not consistent enough to warrant it going into The Horde.
